The Taschen Online Library is an e-book app developed for the publisher Taschen. With this app, users can subscribe to read electronic versions of Taschen's books. The app provides access to a wide selection of high-quality works and allows users to build their personal online library.

Goal

Taschen's books are known for a particular physical quality — scale, print, materiality. Translating that into a digital reading experience meant resisting the urge to simply replicate existing e-reader conventions. The goal was to design an app that felt worthy of the content it was carrying.

Solution

The UX concept was built around the idea of the personal library as a curated space rather than a content feed. Visual hierarchy, typography, and interaction patterns were chosen to slow the experience down — to invite browsing rather than scrolling. The result is an app that positions reading as intentional, with Taschen's editorial quality as the constant backdrop.
